It’s the Open week! The 150th Open will be played on the historical links of The Old Course, St. Andrews, for the 30th time. We at Golf GameBook couldn’t be prouder teaming up with The Open for the second year in a row.
For more than 160 years, the world’s best players have faced the unrelenting challenge of links golf at The Open, golf’s original and most international Championship. Now, 162 years and 149 Opens later, the Home of Golf will host The 150th Open at the Old Course – probably the most famous and prestigious golf course in the world.
Over the past few weeks, all Golf GameBook users have been able to participate in The 150th Open Point Challenge in our app. The Open and Golf GameBook partnered up to bring all golf players and fans an exciting way to engage and connect with The Open. In the challenge, there are no limits, and all the players around the world can participate – anytime and anywhere. This is an excellent example of how to reach and activate golf fans worldwide in an attractive and meaningful way using the latest technology.
The challenge’s goal is to collect as many stableford points as possible during the set time period. The rounds can be played at any official golf course around the world. So really, there’s no limit or reason not to participate. The one lucky winner will be drawn amongst the players and awarded with two tickets to the 151st Open at Royal Liverpool next year.
If you don’t have Golf GameBook app yet, download it for FREE via AppStore or Google Play.
The current challenge will end on Sunday 17th June, but don’t you worry: we have a new one coming up in August. So, if you have our app in your pocket, get ready for the upcoming challenge! And for new users: among many other things, Golf GameBook is a digital golf scorecard that does all the math for you and easily sums up all the points you collect during the challenge. You no longer need to return paper scorecards or keep track with pen and paper.
If you don’t have the app already, get it now. It’s free and pretty amazing.
