Juan Pablo used to be an avid tennis player, but due to a knee injury he had to look for a different sport. His father encouraged him to pick up golf and we are glad that he did. Now Juan Pablo has been golfing for around 15 years. He’s been a GameBook user for three years and has played 176 rounds with the app. Juan Pablo had an exceptionally strong start to the game of golf, as he made a par on the very first hole that he ever played. At that point he thought that the game was not as difficult as people had told him. However, the reality of the game struck rather soon after that.
On the second hole of my first round, I made a ten. Then on the third hole an eleven, and so on… After nine holes, I believe I had already shot 65 shots, so I decided that I would not golf anymore. Well, then on the next day, I was ready to tee off again 😉
Juan Pablo is a passionate Chef and golfer.
Juan Pablo is a Chef, so after playing golf he usually enjoys making a big meal for his family and golf buddies. In his opinion cooking and golfing is a great combination. In addition, Juan Pablo also loves soccer and tennis. When it comes to golf, Juan Pablo’s goal is to keep a single-digit handicap, and his dream is to travel the world cooking and golfing.

Juan Pablo’s favorite golf course is Four Seasons Costa Rica Golf Club at Peninsula Papagayo. The course has been designed by Arnold Palmer. He has a few courses on his Bucket List, including Augusta National, St Andrews and Pebble Beach. If Juan Pablo could select any three people in the world to golf with, they would be Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy. His idol in golf is Rory.
In his golf bag Juan Pablo has Taylor Made’s TP Burner driver, Taylor Made’s Burner 3-wood and rescue hybrid, Cleveland CG7 Tour Irons and Cleveland 588 RTX 50 wedges ( 50, 54 and 58 degrees). Out of all of his golf clubs, his favorite is the 8-iron.

Juan Pablo is a big fan of match play, so his favorite feature on the app is the Match Play game format. He really likes seeing the result on the app in the same way as they show it on TV during match play events.
Last but definitely not least, Juan Pablo has a very special memory to share from the golf course.
My best ever memory on a golf course was when my fiancé and I were at Four Seasons Peninsula Papagayo (my favorite course) and our apartment had a view to the driving range, 1st and 9th hole. I set up a big sign saying: MARRY ME? When my fiancé woke up, I took her to the outside terrace that had a beautiful view to the ocean and golf course. When she was looking at the view from the terrace, she saw the sign. She then said YES!!!
