The blog series takes us to Sweden, just outside of Stockholm, where one of the most prestigious golf courses in the Nordics is located. Bro Hof Slott Golf Club’s courses have gained recognition in many international golf publications. And for a good reason.
In a recent interview with Elin Jansson, the Event Manager of Bro Hof Slott Golf Club, we learned about the club’s positive experience using Golf GameBook’s Tournament Manager (TM).
A Four-Year Partnership
Bro Hof Slott Golf Club began its journey with Tournament Manager in 2020. Over these past four years, they have not only adopted the software but have also seen remarkable benefits in terms of event organization, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. During this period, their usage and reliance on the software has grown significantly.
“In the 2023 season we have organized about 100 events, and we have used Tournament Manager for 80 events, so about 80% of our events are held with Tournament Manager. That’s quite a lot!” Jansson notes.
Efficiency through Technology
One of the standout advantages of using Tournament Manager is its user-friendliness. Jansson emphasizes that the software simplifies the process of organizing and managing golf events. Features such as live scoring, instant results, and easy start list announcements have proven invaluable to the club. This efficiency extends to their B2B customers.
“We save a lot of time at Bro Hof Slott Golf Club using Tournament Manager because, above all, it’s so easy to use! We can follow the scores live on the Golf GameBook app, and get the results quickly after the round,” Jansson states.
Moreover, Jansson mentions that the design is professional.
Strong Support and Communication
The onboarding process has been seamless for Bro Hof Slott Golf Club. They also feel that the support has been prompt and efficient.
“When we’ve had questions or challenges, we’ve always had help quickly from Golf GameBook,” Jansson says and expresses her thanks to Golf GameBook’s support team.
Handling Large Events with Ease
Bro Hof Slott Golf Club has successfully managed events with over 150 participants using Tournament Manager. The software’s flexibility and scalability have allowed them to organize such large tournaments efficiently.
“It has worked extremely well, even with over 150 players. And we actually could not organize these events with GIT because it is not possible to have so many players in a match organized with GIT. That is a significant advantage of Tournament Manager,” Jansson notes.
Business Benefits
From a business perspective, Tournament Manager has added value to Bro Hof Slott Golf Club’s events. They have integrated scoring with Golf GameBook into their corporate events, making it a convenient addition for their customers. Golf GameBook allows the players not only to enter scores but also share photos from the round, which then can be uploaded to the tournament site with a few clicks.
“Here at Bro Hof, we want everyone to use Golf GameBook instead of paper scorecards. Also, it’s so convenient to put pictures in the Game Feed, and afterwards see them on the tournament site. All this is included in the price when a company buys a competition with us,” Jansson mentions.
Bro Hof Slott Golf Club handles the event management in the corporate events as a service. However, it is also possible for organizers to give specific customers access rights to an event created with Tournament Manager. This way they can also make the necessary adjustments and changes to the tournament when needed. This makes managing events even more flexible and efficient.
“Maybe next year we’ll try it at one of our events,” Jansson says.
User Adoption and Feedback
Players have adopted the Golf GameBook app very well at Bro Hof Slott Golf Club. Initially, some members were hesitant to switch from traditional scorecards to digital scoring. However, as Jansson notes, “everyone is so used to using apps now,” and digital scoring has become the norm. Even older members have embraced the technology.
“All our members are good at using the app nowadays. I think it was about getting used to the concept of going digital in the beginning, more of a mentality thing, but now it has become quite normal,” Jansson notes.
Feedback from customers and players has been overwhelmingly positive. Jansson cites examples of events like AIK Golf, where participants were impressed with the smoothness and efficiency of the app. The live leaderboard, in particular, received praise.
“Hosts (our customers) knew where all the players were during the competition, and then they would go to specific holes during the competition with golf cars. They were also happy when they got the results so quickly, directly during the competition,” Jansson adds.
Season Highlights
The 2023 season at Bro Hof Slott Golf Club was filled with memorable events. They successfully organized events like the BMW Nordic Final and the Golf GameBook Open Final, both of which showcased the capabilities of Tournament Manager. Jansson also mentions their use of Tournament Manager for Match KM and the Eclectic Tour that they organize on their courses during the season, which further enhanced the member experience.
“Everything is on Golf GameBook, so we can also send leaderboards to members, and everyone can follow live,” Jansson notes.
With a successful 2023 season behind them, Bro Hof Slott Golf Club looks forward to future events with Golf GameBook and Tournament Manager.
